What was most disappointing about Stephen R. She returns as an adult, only after an injury wounds her ability to perform and finds home a much different place than when she last left it. In the last year I had seen this book referenced a laahead of times regarding the superversive literary movement. Merlin is book two in the Pendragon Cycle.
I won’t be listening to the rest of the series either, because Davidson is the narrator for all of them.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have much use for the ,erlin. Lawhead is one of my favorite authors anyway, and he does his homework. His battle scenes are always very graphic, but I think pretty realistic to the ways of fighting in that age, in a word – brutal.
I did like the writing, and I get that this novel is mostly just set up for the rest of the series, but i really wanted to care more or at least understand These young men are so medlin of honor and servitude. I liked this one more than I liked Taliesin, but that was to be expected. Jan 26, Melissa rated it liked it. Blended with the latter is a view of the coming Dark Ages, and Arthur’s coming role in withstanding the darkness, that invests these with a cosmic spiritual significance.
Lawhead has managed to combine the tale of Atlantis and the tale of the most famous bard out side of Merlin that is Taliesin. Not what I was looking for good luck not putting an icepick in your ears if you buy this. This one is the most fantastical of the series. It was pretty obvious who the betrayer would be and ho This, the fifth book of the Pendragon Cycle, is a flashback, much like the fourth book.
As the cover so coyly tells us, there is a love story coming, and we the readers are left with a surprising amount of tension as we are attempting to figure out how, exactly, these two people are ever going to get together.

What are your thoughts? Son of the great Taliesin, the lawhdad of his father coursed through his soul. His writing reflects the oddity of the many Arthurian source texts – Merlin is always problematic, the hugely variable character of Arthur, Guinevere’s choices and actions,etc.

Taliesin (The Pendragon Cycle #1) by Stephen R. Lawhead
Given that in most, if not all, of Lawhead’s works he goes out of his way to avoid description of sex even between married people, I msrlin see why he needs to include vivid descriptions of violence that are to the point of being offensive to a reader who is at all sensitive.
Jul 14, Sean rated it did not like it. While mrelin first half lags a bit, but sometimes that happens with the introduction of characters, the second half is a page turner where you find yourself wanting more. Anyway, Lawhead’s Merlin is good and quite religious.
Whom should Charis trust? This was quite an engaging read. Non, pas du tout. At times it seemed this novel was trying to provide too much history lawbead the myth. Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account.
Some of the events are overlapping throughout some of the lxwhead. Now, I need to get my hands on the sequel! It is the story of an incomparable love that joined two worlds amid the fires of chaos, and spawned the miracles of Merlin Once started, I could hardly put it down.
