And I do tlokien it’s not your fault you’ve been written in verse. The five tales are written with the same skill, quality and charm that made The Hobbit a classic. Rather, this story is in the same vein as Terry Pratchett, as it tells a wonderful story that stands entirely on its own, but is made all the more enjoyable thanks to the authors depth of knowledge.

Largely overlooked because of their short lengths, they are joined here in one volume which reaffirms Tolkien’s place as a master storyteller for listeners young and old. This would be a fun book to read to children. You’ll laugh and cry. The Adventures of Tom Bombadil is truly a hidden gem, often overlooked by general readers — it is yet another secret entrance into the world of Middle-earth.
