It was the same as when I read my first Lisa Gardner novel, who also gives this book a great boost with her comments on the front cover. I frsaier can’t say enough good things about this book.

He worked the case when she, the soul survivor, was assaulted by the serial rfasier. The characters will all be familiar to any reader of this genre. Didn’t give all the details, just enough to reel you in. Although the front cover features a rather generic, blurry sketch of a graveyard, the back cover reads like a who’s-who of romantic suspense authors. At first I wondered where it was going and why it was even relevant hushh it soon became prevalent to the narrative- though Ethan was such an unlikeable brat that I disliked him intensely!

Then there were a few things that felt kind of out of the blue and rushed, but other hish that this was a great mystery from different characters point of views, and I really enjoyed the reading the whole thing. It grabbed my attention from the first sentence and the pace just kept getting faster and faster and faster, all the way until the very last word! Her personal interest in the case takes on a sharper edge when she learns that her partner, Detective Max Irving, has a son named Ethan who is the same age her child would have been had he survived.
So lock your snne and get ready for a book to keep you turning those pages! I am also aware I could have police procedures wrong and they really do send cops out alone to do this sort of thing.
