Jun 04, Samantha rated it it was amazing Shelves: Lists with This Book. It is only when I delved into this advanced preview that I realised just how well suited srormbird writer like Conn Iggulden is to iggulxen this very English affair. However the spymaster is a good place to start.
Thanks for telling us about the problem. A bit lengthy and slow in parts but impressed with the telling of the various timelines and bringing them together.
Also publishes under author name C. And although for the most part you’re not particularly fond of him, you do find yourself growing strangely endeared to him so that by the time his character leaves the story, you actually sympathise with him rather than rub your hands with glee.
The story of Jack Cade felt jarring at the beginning.

Obviously, as this is the first igguldrn an intended series, there is still a lot of the story to be told, but the finale does leave you wanting to read more. Rather than telling the story from the viewpoint of either Henry VI or Richard, Duke of York, as most historical fiction seems to do, Iggulden focuses on the minor characters, showing their f Conn Iggulden sheds light on a igggulden period of English history with a very readable work on the origins of one of the biggest power struggles in the history of the crown by focusing on the lesser characters and using their stories to illuminate the growing struggle between the descendents of Edward III.

Not to be ignored is Derihew Brewer, spymaster cohn. Ina righteous and honorable English nobleman, Con de la Pole, meets with the English spymaster, Derihew Brewer, to arrange peace between England and France.
He spent a moment longing for wooden overshoes to raise him up above the slop, though he could hardly have fought in those. I really enjoyed reading this book. Deftly plotted and with both great scope and good characters, I thoroughly enjoyed Stormbird and look forward to the next instalment.
