The Amitāyurdhyāna Sūtra is a Mahayana sutra in Pure Land Buddhism, a branch of Mahāyāna Buddhism. It is one of the three principle Pure Land sutras along with the Infinite Life Sutra and the Amitabha Sutra. Amitāyus is another name for the Buddha Amitābha, the preeminent figure in. The Buddha tells the forty-eight vows of Dharmakara, who has become Amitayus Buddha, and describes His Pure Land of Peace and Bliss. He encourages all. Five evil life-paths refer to the life-paths of gods, humans, animals, hungry ghosts, and hell-dwellers. People of the world, who have limited lifespans, depend upon one another and the environment as they live together between heaven and earth. After his death, supported by his merit, he is reborn to go up a good life-path.
Exceptionally intelligent and valiant, he was outstanding in the world. They saluted the prince and remonstrated with him, saying: Over the surface of that ground of lapis lazuli there are stretched golden ropes intertwined crosswise; divisions are made by means of strings of seven jewels with every part clear and distinct.
The Buddha is the Dharma King revered above all multitudes of holy beings. If any one meditates on the land of that Buddha country, his sins which bind him to births and deaths during eighty million xutra shall be expiated; after the abandonment of his amittayus body, he will assuredly be born in the pure land in the following life.
He and many Bodhisattvas will offer their hands and welcome him, when Avalokitesvara, Mahasthamaprapta, and all the other Bodhisattvas will praise the glory of the man who practiced the meritorious deeds, and convey an exhortation to his mind.
The youth who offers him grass ammitayus an auspicious sign of the fullness of his merit and endeavor. Except only during the time of your sleep, you should always keep this in your mind. Evildoers are punished for their crimes.

Amitayus Long Life Sutra
She began to do homage to Buddha from afar, looking towards the Vulture Peak. These two Bodhisattvas assist Amitayus in his work of universal salvation — such is the meditation that forms a joint perception of the Buddha and Bodhisattvas, and it is the Suta Meditation. When he lifts up his feet, the soles of his feet are seen to be marked with a wheel of a thousand spokes which miraculously transform themselves into five hundred million pillars of rays.
The chief consort of the king, Vaidehi by name, was true and faithful to her lord, the king. In a moment he will be ssutra in a lotus-flower growing in the lake of seven jewels. The king showed in his expression that he was happy and contented when he had an opportunity of hearing the Dharma as well as of enjoying the honey and flour.
The palm of his hand has a mixed color of five hundred lotus-flowers. You have developed profound wisdom and truly wonderful eloquence and, out of compassion for sentient beings, you wisely ask about this meaning.
The law of karma prevails, and the net of requitals is accordingly spread.
They disbelieve in and doubt such wisdom-knowledge. Some jeweled trees have coral roots, emerald trunks, conch shell branches, purple-tinged gold twigs, silver amitauys, aquamarine flowers, and crystal fruits. There is a tower built of the gems which are like those that are fastened on Sakra’s head. In their past lives, they did not believe in morality, nor did they develop roots of goodness. While liberation ssutra hard to achieve, their pain is indescribable.
The five virtues are the opposites of the five evils. Think over what you have heard! However, everyone is born alone, dies alone, comes alone, and goes alone. The beds of yellow gold ponds are covered with silver dust.
There are Buddhas whose radiance reaches a distance of seven feet, or one, two, three, four, amityaus five yojanasor to a distance extended to illuminate one Buddha Land. He teaches the immeasurable merit of the resolve to attain bodhi. He rumbles the Dharma thunder, flashes the Dharma lightning, pours down the Dharma rain, and gives the Dharma alms. Some silver trees have gold leaves, flowers, and fruits.
All his other bodily signs are quite equal to those of Avalokitesvara. In black, yellow, red, and purple, the colorful light is striking, radiant, and splendid, outshining the sun and the moon. They are unwilling to do good amittayus, harness their bodies, and earn a livelihood, though their families are in hardship, hungry and cold.
